Inauguration Celebration

Students at The Langston Hughes School celebrated the nation's 44th Presidential Inauguration, utilizing technology to witness the swearing in of President Barack Obama on January 20th, 2009.

Cable Television and SMART Boards were used thtoughout the school as students and staff eagerly watched the new Presidents take his oath of office.  As history was being made, the Langston Hughes teachers discussed how this special inauguration has special significance, particularly as it directly followed the celebration of Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday.
